Am I ever going to get the child support I am owed?
My ex husband owes over 8,000 dollars in back child support. He has no job and will probably never work. He has never filed and income tax return and probably will never do that either. However he receives 1,900.00 dollars every month from a MetLife annuity (settlement for suing the county in which he was incarcerated after being run over by a forklift). He has a bank account, however, the monthly settlement check is not directly deposited into that account. He has no property in which a lien could be put on and his driver’s license has already been suspended-which is not getting me my child support. I’ve been to the state (AZ) for help with child support enforcement and nothing they can do will result in payment. He doesn’t care if his credit is ruined or license is suspended. He also has a warrant for his arrest-but while he sits in prison he will still collect the 1,900.00 dollars every month. Is there anything I can do or is it a lost cause.
If you don’t inform the courts, you won’t see anything. They can garnish that 1900 and give you your share.
1. Take his drivers license
2. Take his State Income Tax Return
3. Take his Federal Income Tax Return
4. Garnish his wages
5. Confiscate and sell his house
6. Freeze his banking
7. And last but not least
Throw him in jail , fine him heavily and do any of the above
None of this happens sitting on your thumbs waiting. Take action.
